HISTORY
Hi, my name is Martin Stubbs and I am the DogmanN. I have owned and trained dogs for the past 15 years and am currently owned by four dogs; Dolly a 7 year old rescue Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Bonnie a 2 year old Saint Bernard rescue and the two latest arrivals Tito and Mia, brother and sister Dobermann puppy's.
I was given Dolly when she was 2 years old. She was very dog aggressive and had had no socialisation with other dogs which led to obvious problems. With a lot of hard work and a lot of time Dolly is now very confident around other dogs and can be left off the lead when dogs are around.

Bonnie's owner was unable to look after her due to work commitments and came to me at the age of 14 months with no formal training. She has a heart of gold and lets the two newest arrivals to the pack get away with murder!

Tito is the latest addition and was bought from the Oberstein Kennels in the middle of July. With Tito I plan on doing Obedience, Agility and VPG (Schutzhund).

Mia came to the household a month after Tito and I intend to compete with both of them in dog sports as well as in the show ring.
COLLEGE
It was working with Dolly that originally got me interested in dogs with behavioural problems. This led me to enrole in the UK's first Foundation Degree in Dog Behaviour and Training at Bishop Burton College.
Starting my second year, I am seeing huge improvements both in Dolly and Bonnie's attitudes and results in training. Tito & Mia are also doing really well with the reward based training techniques such as clicker training and lure and reward methods that I use.
VPG (Schutzhund)

VPG (Schutzhund) is a sport whose purpose is to evaluate a dog's character by giving it work to do, and then comparing it against other working dogs. It comprises of three elements; Tracking, Obedience and Protection. I currently do helper work with the Washington Schutzhund Club, the Nuneaton Schutzhund Club, the Dover Schutzhund Club and with the Great Britain Working Dobermann Club under the guidance of Tom Nye.
